    🧥 Essential Clothing & Outerwear

Weather in the San Bernardino Mountains can change rapidly. Layering is key.

    🥾 Footwear & Socks

Students will be walking on uneven, dirt terrain throughout the day.

    • Closed-Toe Shoes (2 Pairs): One pair of sturdy sneakers or hiking boots, and one backup pair in case the first gets wet.

    • Moisture-Wicking Socks: Wool or synthetic blends are better than cotton for preventing blisters.

    • Flip-Flops: For shower use only.

🛌 Sleeping Gear & Personal Items

Cabins are climate-controlled, but students still need their own bedding.

    ❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the weather usually like at Pali Institute?

Located at high altitude in Running Springs, CA, we experience everything from bright sun to snow and rain. We always recommend checking the local forecast 48 hours before the trip, but always pack a waterproof outer layer and a warm hat regardless of the forecast.

Does my child need a specific type of sleeping bag?

While any standard sleeping bag works, we recommend a "mummy" or "rectangular" bag rated for 30°F. If you don't have one, you can purchase an [Official Pali Sleeping Bag here].

Can I have my gear delivered directly to the camp?

Yes! To save space in your car or the school bus, select the "Deliver to Camper" shipping option at checkout. We will have your items labeled and ready for your student when they check in.

    What should I NOT pack?

Please do not send your student with electronics (tablets/gaming consoles), snacks (to keep cabins critter-free), or expensive jewelry.
